"Random jay-z news?
stick to games!"
*laughs* I don't think I could call hiphop and game news random if it's from a site called hiphopgamer.
Survival horror now? What the heck is going on with this franchise these days?
Cool. I was actually just wishing they would releas this game for free.
...I wish Megan Fox would come to my house now? =D
Lots of Bioware articles today, I notice.
In all honesty, I don't need every game I play to be a tasteful take on touchy subjects. I like my dark fantasy dark and uncensored. And it's not like sexual themes and taste are mutually exclusive, so says Hollywood.
In the long run, it won't matter. I'm not playing the game for boobs. And if they choose not to include nudity, I'll have it for PC where nudity is usually the first thing modded. And at least then I can choose to turn it on or off.
You can't blame the devs for those limits. It is what it is.
This kind of gameplay is always a work in progress. You are never quite free in games because the burden is on the developer to deliver a story that simply can't fit all play styles. The devs can't program for every instance of chaos. It's impossible.
What we're getting right now is probably some of the best we can get. Frankly, I don't have any better suggestions beyond 'forget huge textures and focus mor...
Sweet.
Sounds like it might be a fantastic fit to these Diablos and other loot-driven titles.
I can honestly say you've missed out big time.
Infected, Bioware isn't talking about Dark Alliance, they had nothing to do with those two games. They are talking about the PC games which, as Syronicus says, are completely different games.
Shame though. If we ever get a BG3, it'll probably fall to Obsidian. I think they're ok, but they're no Bioware. It's surprising given the amount of old Interplay talent in Obsidian. I hope Fallout: New Vegas shows off their skills a bit better.
I'm surprised no one mentioned Braid yet.
Team Ico I think, has this mastered. Another game I would call overlooked in the art department is SaGa Frontier II. Beautifully rendered in watercolours.
But I think the top here are SOTC and Okami.
I disagree almost totally with FFVII being top artistic anything. I think Nomura as a designer got much, much better with his later FFVII Comp stuff and KH. But that's my opinion.
Thank's to WoW's massive success, MMOs have become the shameless cash-in of gaming these days. Most every game is a me too w/o doing much to differentiate themselves from the pack. Jinxstar is so right saying most of them are garbage. Go to a MMORPG.com and see exactly how many crap MMOs are flying below your radar. I'd wager at least 50 minimum.
You only hear about the bigs ones by big name devs. You almost never hear about the dregs.
F2P, huh? What's the reason for the switch over, I wonder.
'Myth' is too nice. It's a total BS excuse for those who define hardcore as 'M rating'.
I mean speaking for myself, it's quite hard to take that kind of attitude seriously when I'm playing my 50th hardcore game on DS (SMT:Devil Summoner).
These things are a dime a dozen these days. You really need to do your research before signing on to one.
LoK is one of my favourite series. I hope there's a place for it in the future of Eidos. Some of the best voice acting I've ever heard can be found in those games which any avid gamer knows is no small praise.
"As long as I still get my Deus Ex 3 and they don't f*ck it up by turning it into some pathetic jrpg."
That actually makes no sense whatsoever. The whole point of a 'Western strategy' is to deliver more than the niche titles which weren't very profitable over here in the first place.
It would be exceptionally contrary to conquer Eidos and force devs who have no experience making JRPGs to crank them out and sell them to an audience that largely doesn't want...
I really dislike the bit about using luck in games. Maybe it's a Japanese thing, but I despise sitting there hoping I get lucky enough to finish my game. It should never be attached to a main quest.
I'm not a big fan of hearing about this kind of thing before the game is even out. I remember reading an article with sage advice: don't announce a trilogy/quadrilogy before your first drops.
All hype aside, there's no guarantee your game will be that well received or that your studio will even be made of the same guys by the time you get to the sequel. It is a high risk industry, especially in this economic downturn. "But this is Remedy" some people say. Yeah well go a...
I actually wouldn't mind "Awesome Master of Badass Beating-Up-People Guys."
You think a mega corporation like Sony doesn't have cute girls to help advertise?
I suggest you don't pay attention to TGS this year. Your fragile world will fall apart.
